Mac Canon C300 MXF to ProRes,Edit Canon C300 files in FCP 6/7/X with ProRes MOV

The Canon EOS C300 is a hot camera that supports the Full HD recordings, utilizing file-based MPEG-2 compression with an MXF File Wrapper. Though MXF is great video format to record high-definition videos, it is not easy to use for they are not natively supported by most video editing programs. For example, we can't import and edit Canon C300 video in Final Cut Pro 6/7/X directly. The easy workaround to get the work done is to transcode C300 MXF files to FCP friendly ProRes MOV codec. The following guide shares with you the way converting Canon C300 MXF for using in Final Cut Pro.

Convert Canon C300 MXF footage to ProRes MOV for Editing in Final Cut Pro 6/7/X

Step 1: Import Canon C300 MXF footage to the top UFUSoft Mac MXF to FCP Converter

Launch the UFUSoft Canon C300 MXF Converter on Mac. Click the button "Add File" to add MXF files to it or directly drag and drop the files your MXF files.

Step 2: Choose "Apple ProRes (*.mov)" as output format

Click on "Profile" and you will get a dropdown menu , then move you pointer to Final cut Pro >Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov) or Apple ProRes 4444 (*.mov).

Tips: You can click "settings" button to customize the output video parameters as you want, such as video resolution, video bitrate, etc.

Step 3: Convert Canon C300 MXF to ProRes MOV for Final Cut Pro 6/7/X

After above settings, you can click "Convert" button to start the Canon C300 MXF footage to Apple PrroRes Mov conversion.

After the process, press “Browse” to locate converted files and load the videos to edit in FCP 6/7/X.
